Configure Fring for the iPhone

Fring is an iPhone app that lets users communicate via their favourite instant messaging networks, as well as enabling voice communication with SIP services like Localphone. This guide describes how to configure your Fring to work with your Localphone account.

Install Fring from the iPhone App Store
Fring is free to download and only takes a moment to install. After installing you will have to open a Fring account if don’t already have one.

Open Fring and Navigate to Add Localphone as a SIP Provider
After opening Fring please select the following menu options:

- More (bottom right)
- Add-ons (top)
- SIP (top)
- Other (bottom)

Enter Your Localphone VoIP Account’s Details
Setting Value User ID [SIP ID] Password [SIP Password] Proxy proxy.localphone.com

Make a Call

- You should be returned to the Add-ons menu and the SIP list item should have a green tick.
- Press “Dialler” to make a call.
- Enter the full international number you wish to call
- Press SIP to make a call with Localphone (warning: pressing “Cellular” will make a call with your mobile contract!)
